BLUES VS CHICHESTER (72-33)

After the loss against Nottingham University and a week off in the Midlands 1A League due to a postponed match, the Cambridge Blues were ready to step back on the court with renewed strength.Their efforts were rewarded with a comfortable 72-33 win over Chichester, which takes the team to the final 16 of the BUCS Cup competition.

NOTTINGHAM VS BLUES

The away game last Wednesday saw the Blues' first loss of the season against the University ofNottingham. Low in numbers, the Blues were not able to keep up their usual energy and lost 80-48 against the hosts.

The first quarter began with a quick layup by Nottingham, countered by a bucket by Cambridge after a long possession. The first 5 minutes of the game were even as both teams ran up and down the court in a series of intense offensive plays. However, the hosts managed to get ahead on the score board as Cambridge failed to convert their shots. The quarter closed with Nottingham aheadby 9 points, 26-17.

BLUES VS NOTTINGHAM TRENT (47-45)

The Cambridge Blues take another win in what could potentially be a season-defining game. Thebasketball women faced league leaders Nottingham Trent on Wednesday and fought to the end in anail biting game that finally saw them come out on top 47-45.

Knowing that Nottingham Trent had won both their games against the Blues' long term rivals Worcester and Nottingham, the Cambridge women had a shaky start to the match. An unprecedented number of turnovers in offence meant that they were unable to reach the basket, while the guests took advantage of these mistakes and punished the Blues. However, strong defenceallowed Cambridge to maintain the score low and saved them from what could have been a trulydisastrous first quarter. Thus, the first 10 minutes ended with a historic low score of 7-14 for Nottingham Trent.
